Witchy Bullet Journal Ideas

Planning is important, but there’s more to life than just thinking ahead. That’s why making space in your planning system for other stuff is always a good idea. With that in mind, I have a ton of witchy bullet journal ideas for you put some magic back in your planning routine.

Bujo witchcraft? I hear you ask. Is there such a thing?

I’m sure there’s a subgenre of witchcraft for everything. Like, I could very well be a story witch, if I wanted to call myself that. (Which I do, and I will henceforth!)

One thing I really like about the bullet journal system is that it gets to be whatever you need it to be. You can follow the system as created by Ryder Carroll, or you can morph it into something else. It can be more of a commonplace book, or it can be more of a journal for recording than planning and task tracking.

So, it’s only natural that there should be bullet journal iterations that fit a witchy lifestyle.

Witchy Bullet Journal Ideas

If you’re interested in adding some magic to your daily to do lists, these witchy bullet journal ideas will help you create collections and planning routines to do just that. These are just some suggestions, but feel free to take these ideas and run with them to make them work for you.

001: Make a bullet journal book of shadows.

You could make this its own notebook, or add it to your current bullet journal as a collection.

If you have a set of rituals you consider spells, or things you like to do to welcome in new seasons, this can be a fun way to record them. So, if you have a money ritual you do at a certain time of year, or a way you like to set intentions at different holidays, you can create spreads to document what you like to do.

Of course, if spell jars and candles are your thing, record your process and ingredients here too. And if you’re learning new stuff, the bullet journal can be a great place to keep all that information. But more on that in a second!

002: Create a tarot bullet journal.

Whether you’re interested in learning more about the cards or you just want a place to track your card pulls, keeping a tarot bullet journal can help. You can leave space in your daily pages to track the cards you pulled on that day, or you can do a weekly spread.

For those who want to learn more about the cards, you could pick a card each month and focus on it. In your monthly pages, you could leave space to write out the meanings of the card, as well as journal what that card means to you.

If you’re interested in journaling through the tarot, make sure to check out The Tarot Card Meanings Journal as well as the Daily Tarot Pull Pocket Journal.

003: Use a bullet journal for astrology.

I’m writing this post during a particularly punchy Mercury in retrograde, and the thought has occurred to me that having a spread with your chart and all the transits for the year could be super helpful in preparing for some astrological shenanigans.

I’m not entirely sure how to make an astrology journal, but I would like to know more about the Zodiac signs, so recording that information would be a good start. And if you’re the type to put a future log in your bullet journal, I feel like adding major transits and all the retrogrades in there would be a good plan. That way, you could at least plan stuff around that.

If you have any astrology journal ideas, I’d love to hear them. Astrology is a field that I’ve never really jumped into, but that may change very soon!

004: Make a wheel of the year bullet journal.

If you’re a Pagan or Wiccan, you may enjoy having a wheel of the year spread in your bullet journal. The wheel of the year is the cycle of seasonal festivals based on big solar events, as well as the midway celebrations in between.

You could do this as a simple spread, or create a bullet journal full of the rituals and spells you associate with each festival. I could see this as a great place to record recipes you cook at those times of the year, as well as ideas for ways to celebrate.

As with all my suggestions, you could make this as unique to you as you’d like. And having a wheel of the year bullet journal just for the rituals you like to do is a great way to build traditions with your loved ones since you have all your celebration information all in one place.

005: Track information you’ve learned.

Part of witchcraft is actively learning. And all witches need a place to store their information. Whether you want to record information about a deity you work with or the properties of herbs, a bullet journal can be a great place to do that.

I would recommend having a book just for collections for this. Each collection would be about a different area you’re studying, and use as many tabs and highlighters for color coding as necessary to keep the information straight.

006: Plan with the moon phases.

Using the moon phases to plan can be a great way to avoid any full moon craziness, and enjoy the benefits of a new moon. You could do this in your future log, or you could do it in the monthly or even weekly spreads. Think about how you like to plan and how you can incorporate the moon into that plan.

Of course, you can’t always plan around the moon, but having information about what’s going on with the moon can be just as helpful as knowing the transits of major planets.

Do You Have a Magical Bullet Journal?

Have you ever created a witchy bullet journal? Which of these ideas would you like to try? Do you have a good source for learning about the zodiac?
